About Me
Born and raised in London, England, I left home at just 16 years old for Switzerland, the birth country of my father, to pursue my dream of becoming a professional soccer player. In 2003 I made my professional debut with Grasshopper Club Zurich when I was 18, playing in 2 consecutive UEFA Cups. After 6 seasons, in 2009, I joined BSC Young Boys and spent 8 memorable years. After 14 seasons in the Swiss Super League, I moved to North America, and played 2 seasons for Orlando City SC and my final season for the Vancouver Whitecaps, making 67 appearances in the MLS before retiring in 2020.
I was fortunate to have competed in almost 400 professional games, including 10 in the UEFA Champions League and 55 in the UEFA Cup and Europa League.
I was also privileged to represent Switzerland at both youth (U17, U20 and U21) and senior level (2 caps).
My coaching journey started shortly after retiring whereby I joined the coaching staff at the University of Virginia. After almost 2 years, I got my first head coaching role at D.C United, taking over the U15s before progressing to the U17s.
I am a firm believer of “if you have knowledge, pass it on to those who do not”. I am excited to take my experiences to the next level by now focusing heavily on the individual development side of our beautiful game.
